G. S. L. City, Oct 28, 1859.

To the Brethren who have this season hauled wood, poles &c. from Big

Cottonwood Canon: --
You have been allowed the use of the road in the aforesaid Canon for a long time, and have injured it very materially. The Big Cottonwood Lumber Company now wish to haul lumber from their mills during the period between this and the blockading of the road by snow, and, to enable them to do so, have hereby to request you to put the road in as good repair as you found it, and to stop hauling from the aforesaid Canon until you again have permission from the aforesaid company to do so.
