Bishop McBride,
Santaquin, Utah County, U. T.

Dear Brother:--
Paw-wots has just called upon me, in company with bro Dimick B. Huntington and Matthew Caldwell. After some conversation I have deemed it the best policy, under the circumstances, for you and the brethren at your place to lend Paw-a-wots a yoke of cattle, an ox &c. as he may need to get up his wood and help himself from time to time. that he and his family may have facilities for doing all they can for their own support; thereby learning to be industrious and useful to themselves, set a goodly example to their fellows, and as far as possible relieve the people from quite a tax. And in the spring it will be well to help Paw-a-wots, and such others as may wish to work, about putting in crops, and to lend them tools to facilitate their operations.

Your Brother in the Gospel,

Brigham Young
