Dear Brother:-In reply to your note of the 14th inst., I have to inform you that if you wish a place, where you will be safe and within settlements, in which to build a saw mill to benefit yourself and the people, Cache Valley is a good locality, and people are rapidly settling therein. It is altogether uncertain when we may make a settlement in any of the places you mention, or whether ever; but whenever a settlement is made by us on the Yellowstone you are at liberty to join in, if you should then wish to do so.

We now think of sending an exploring party to the Yellowstone region this season, and should we do so you are at liberty, should you desire, to go with them and see the country,

Your Brother in the Gospel,

Brigham Young
