Bishop Franklin W. Young,
Payson, U.T.,

Dear Brother:-In yours of the 16th inst. you do not state when nor how br. Ridges intends to pay for the city property and land you mention; still, if it suits br. C.B. Hancock, you are at liberty to say to br. Ridges to occupy and improve the 40 acres of land owned by br. Charles and the house and 2 lots owned by the Church, as specified in your letter, and let the matter so remain until you hear further from me about it.

You are at liberty to waive selecting br. Ridges for your First Counsellor, if you prefer, until, as you write, you are "a little better acquainted."

Your Brother in the Gospel,

Brigham Young
