Messr's J.J. Anderson & Co.,
St. Louis, Mo.,

Gentlemen:-On the 22nd. inst. I addressed a letter to you, inclosing a $400 draft drawn in my favor by Maria Smith upon Messr's M. Elroy & Bradford, New Orleans, La, which I endorsed to you for collection. In that letter I advised you that Mr. William J. Silver would be authorized to call upon you for said funds, but circumstances have so shaped since that advise that our mutual friend and acquaintance Gen. H.S. Eldredge will visit the States instead of Mr. Silver, for which reason I hereby countermand my request to you to pay said draft to Mr. Silver, and wish you to pay it, deducting, as previously advised, expense of collection, to Gen. Eldredge or order, and oblige

Very Respectfully,

Brigham Young
