In reply to yours of the 2nd inst., I have to inform you that by next eastern mail I will instruct br. Horace S. Eldredge to enquire the whereabouts of br. Davis, and, if reasonably consistent, endeavor to have him and his family, if he has a family, at Florence in time to be brought here by the ox train we shall send to the frontiers this season.
