Elder W.I. Appleby, City

Dear Brother:-As Don Carlos Babbitt, Almon W. Babbitt's eldest son and the bearer of this letter, is about to start to assist his brothers and sisters from the frontiers to this to this place he will need some money to pay ferriage and other expenses, and I see no impropriety in your furnishing him, from his father's estate, a reasonable amount for that purpose.

If you have no money on hand belonging to the Estate, you doubtless can, without any difficulty, at once collect the amount Don Carlos may need.

Your Brother in the Gospel,

Brigham Young
