Sir:-As I advised you, on the 12th of July last, I forward to you upon the first responsible opportunity, by the hands of Mr. Erastus Snow, forty nine dollars and twenty cents (49 20/100) for which I wish you to give Mr. Snow a receipt for me, in full of all demands.

Promptness in payments being my rule, I regret that I was not sooner advised of
this matter, of which I knew nothing until you wrote to me, and trust that its adjustment will prove satisfactory.
