Elder Orson Hyde,
Sanpete County, U.T.

Dear Brother:-Br. Samuel P. Hoyt has called upon me for a little counsel upon a subject couched in the accompanying copy of a letter to me from him, and no better method for adjusting the difficulty occurs to me than for you, at your earliest convenience, to select enough men to travel safely and visit Fillmore, inquire into the mill question between br's Bartholomew and Hoyt, and, if possible, bring the question to the best possible final adjustment. Br. Hoyt is here on horseback, and I shall advise him to return by way of Sanpete and tarry there, if he can consistently, until you are ready to visit Fillmore, and accompany you on your trip there.

It will probably be best for the people of Fillmore to buy out br. Hoyt, that he may have opportunity to go to some location where he can have peace and do more good, or else conclude to cease their bickerings, jealousies, and annoyances.

Your early attention to the foregoing request may prevent much ill feeling and perhaps wrong, and will oblige,

Your Brother in the Gospel,

Brigham Young
