Elder James M. Ide,

Dear Brother:-On the 22nd ult. your wife called upon me with an order from you for $200 00/100, which I paid to her. She appeared to be in good health and spirits, and it was gratifying to me that it was in my power to at once honor your draft in her favor.

As money is rather scarce in Utah, I have taken the liberty to draw a draft upon you for the $200 00/100 I have paid to your wife, which draft I have sold to br. William S. Godbe, Druggist in this City, who has to pay money in California. Br. Godbe has indorsed said draft to Redington & Co., San Francisco, and I wish you to be careful and pay it only to the indorsee or his known order, that the right person may get the money.

Your Brother in the Gospel,

Brigham Young
