Elder's Certificate

To all persons unto whom this letter shall come:

This certifies that the bearers, Elders Ezra T. Benson and Lorenzo Snow, two of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, have been set apart and are hereby authorized, empowerd and appointed to go forth to California and <the> Sandwich or Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean, to Govern, control, regulate, and set in order the churches, to dictate, counsel and make such appointments as shall be right and proper, and as they may be led by the Holy Ghost in all matters and things that shall come before them, pertaining to the Saints, the Churches and matters connected therewith in California and the Islands of the Pacific and wherever elsewhere they may be while absent upon this mission.

And we invite all people, Saints and sinners, to hearken to and obey their teachings and counsels as men of God having authority to open to them the door of life and salvation--and assist them in their travels, in whatsoever things they may need.

And we pray God the Eternal Father to bless Elders Ezra T. Benson and Lorenzo Snow and all who receive them and minister to their comfort, with the blessings of heaven and earth, for time and for all eternity, in the name of Jesus Christ: Amen.
