Elder Dwight Eveleth,

Dear Brother:

I am desirous of obtaining a Pile Driver -- the iron hammer of which I would like to weigh one thousand pounds (1,000 lbs). With the hammer I would like to obtain all the Machinery that is necessary-- that we cannot make here -- to use with such power as we have here. I understand that pile drivers are very commonly used in San Francisco, and I have thought that you could purchase me such a one as I describe. If you can, I would like it shipped up the Colorado River to the head of Navigation, where we are intending to erect a Warehouse immediately.

Wm. R. Wadsworth & Son at 402 Front Street, San Francisco, are the parties who have the Agency of the Colorado Steamers.

You can draw on me, or if you telegraph me, I will send you the money for the Driver and the freight. I do not want any of the wood work or the steam power to hoist the hammer, but would like the Iron work-- the shoes V's &c

With love I remain
Your Brother in the Gospel
