President's Office,
G. S. Lake City, Feb. 3rd, 1865.

Bishop Wm.

Miller,
Provo City,

Dear Brother:

We have received the names of a number of persons from your Ward who have volunteered to go to the Colorado.

These brethren had better arrange for some persons of their number to go down South on their behalf and select and secure some land, and put in grain, &c., right away, that they may have something provided to sustain their families when they shall follow them.

When they reach St. George, they should report themselves to Brother Erastus Snow, who will be able to counsel them where they should settle.
