John Wild,

Dear Brother:

Your note of this morning has just been handed to me. I told you, through Brother Woolley, last Fall that I could not hire you any more by the day; but that I would give you some jobs to do through the winter to occupy you. I have no work now that I wish you to do; a plenty of work, however, can be obtained on the Canal, which we are anxious to have pushed through.

I remain Respectfully Your Brother in the Lord

Brigham Young
