President's Office,

Great Salt Lake City,
April 1Oth, 1865.

Dr Joseph W. Morgan,

Dear Brother:

Your note of this morning has just been handed to me on the subject of yourself and Dr. Anderson renting the "Perkins' house, 19th Ward," as a hospital for one month with the privilege of twelve months. The Perkins house is in the 13th Ward, and for that house I have more families than I have rooms there that they can occupy, and therefore could not rent it for such a purpose as you propose. I have no house in the 19th Ward that would suit; but have the house known as the Union Academy in the 17th Ward which I might spare a part of for a hospital.

Your Brother,

Brigham Young
