Dear Sister:-

Your letter of the 17th instant respecting the emigration of your daughter and her husband and children, has been received.

I regret that I have no power to give you any encouragement upon this matter, as there is such a demand for funds to bring the poor from the fruntiers, and for the other labors which devolve upon us that I find myself unable to respond to the many calls which are made upon me to help the poor out of England.
