Elder B. Young, Jr
42 Islington, Liverpool, England,

Dear Son:-

In my letter of January 14th 1859, to bro. A. Calkin, I wrote the following: "John Tate has deposited $75.00 to emigrate Mary Seetree, Leeds Conference, to this place; her place of residence can be learned by applying to her mother, Mrs. Britton, north Brighton, nr. Wetherby, Yorkshire;" and on the 1st Novr., 1859, I issued my draft no. 147, favor of Mary Britton, North Deaton, near Wetherby, Yorkshire; for £20.0.0. Neither of these persons have emigrated, and the amounts appear upon our draft advice book as unpaid. The sender also states that the money has not been paid to the parties, and that he has now promised to pay £23.0.0 to Phillip Kirk, Arnold, Nottingham, to emigrate his family this year instead of the others. I presume you can readily learn from the Church account whether the amounts have been paid. If you find that they have not, pay the £23.0.0 to Phillip Kirk, and advise the balance to be returned here to bro. Tate. Has Thomas J. Whitaker deposited £5.0.0 on the 18 July, 1865, for Thomas Whitaker of this City?

If draft no. 636, favor of Wm Ramsay, 2 Orchard Place, Creek Road, Deptford, is not enough, with what he has, to emigrate him this season, and you have the means to help him, I would be pleased to have you do so.
