Elder Samuel D. White,
en route to the Missouri River.

Dear Brother:

I send a Four Mule team out to you by Bro. Edwin Walker which I am sending down to help bring up the Poor. I wish you to take charge of it going down and returning, and you can put some one of the Missionaries, probably, to drive it going down, and then, when you return, you can secure a good, reliable man to drive back. I think that Bro. Marius Ensign would be a very suitable man to drive it down.

You are at liberty to load it in proportion to the rest of your teams, and it will prove a help to you in carrying the Missionaries, &c., that you have with you.

From among the returning Missionaries you can select a good teamster to drive back.

Praying the Lord to bless yourself and company in going and returning

I remain Your Bro.
