Bishop Wm. W. Cluff,
Coalville, Summit Co.

Dear Brother:

We have received a Petition signed by Forty-one brethren, former residents of Kamas Prairie, to which we have sent the accompanying answer.

As early as you can conveniently we would like you to go to Kamas and select the most suitable spot on which they can build their Fort; also, select from their midst the most worthy and proper man to preside there and to assist you in attending to the Tithing, &c.

Their Petition sets forth that there is an almost total neglect of meetings and other religious duties where they are now located. This should be remedied, and the Saints should be kept in the lively enjoyment of the privileges and duties of their religion.

With love, Your Bro.

Brigham Young
