Dear Sister:

Yesterday I caught cold, and I have been trying to take care of myself to-day with the hope of being able to accept of your kind invitation for Mrs. Amelia Young and myself to spend Friday afternoon with you; but, I feel so unwell this evening, that I deem it wise to let you know that I shall be unable to go out in company tomorrow.
