President's Office,
Gt. Salt Lake City,
Dec. 4th/66.

Bishop C. H. Bryan,
Nephi, Juab Co.

Dear Brother:

The President is confined to his room to-day with the rheumatism in his knee, and can not sign this letter, I therefore sign it. He wishes you to have three thousand (3,000) spikes, five and a half<(51/2)> or six inches (6) long, made at your place for the Telegraph Line. They should be made while the brethren stretching the wire are going over to San Pete, so that when they return the spikes will be ready for them to take on with them to Scorpio.

Hoping that we will soon have Telegraphic communication with you, and with love

I remain
Your Brother,

Geo. Q. Cannon

P. S. Brother Brigham is much better this evening than he has been.
