South of Gt. Salt Lake City,

Dear Brethren:

The bearer of this, Brother John C. Clowes, and his party, have been selected to go South to put up the Offices for the Deseret State Telegraph Line in the various Settlements where they are needed.

Please render to him whatever assistance he and party may need to aid them in accomplishing the business entrusted to them. He has a book with him, in which the expenses of food and lodging, and provender, &c., for the animals can be entered.
