Gentlemen:

Your favor of the 12th ult., on the subject of flour belonging to me turned over to you by Messrs. Tutt & Donnel, has been duly received.

Mr. Joseph W. Young sold me One hundred and three (103) Sacks of Flour, which were in the hands of Messrs. Tutt & Donnel, and advised them of his having made the sale to me. I also corresponded with them on the subject, informing them that I had purchased. It is this lot that I understand you to refer to.

I think with you, that though flour is dull at present, before new supplies can be hauled into your Territory the flour you have on hand will call for tolerably good prices. When the flour that you have of mine will bring Sixteen or Eighteen ($16 or $18) Dollars per sack, I would like to have it sold.

Times are rather dull in this City, and not much prospect of any improvement at present.

With kind regards,
Respectfully

Brigham Young
