To Bishop C. G. Edwards and the brethren of Fort Ephraim

Dear Brethren:-

We send to you our brother Canute Peterson to act as Bishop of Fort Ephraim; and we wish Bishop Edwards to transfer all the books and papers and the business pertaining to the Bishoprick to br. Peterson and to give him an insight into all the business pertaining to his calling as fast as bro Edwards' health will permit; in doing his Bishop Edwards' counsellors can be of considerable assistance to him.

We pray that the Spirit of this mission and calling may rest upon Bro. Peterson, and we ask the brethren and sisters in that ward to give diligent heed to his counsels, to listen to his teachings and to give him their faith and prayers, that he may be sustained in his office. If you will do this, the blessings of the Lord will rest upon you, and peace will abound in your habitations and settlement, and your Bishop will be a blessing to you, a Father indeed, to comfort and guide you,

With love,
Your Brother,

Brigham Young
