Bro. John A. Joist wishes to purchase a Steam Engine from me on time. He thinks that you will become security for payment, the amount is $1800.00 to be paid in 1 year or before with 10 per cent interest. If you feel that you can do so and not disappoint me when the sum becomes due you may sign the enclosed note with him.
