April 1st 1867.

Elder Alexander Ross.

Dear Brother:
Your favor of March 28th detailing the circumstances connected with your brother's family and his departure &c., has been received. I sympathise very much with yourself, and the position in which you have been thrown through the misconduct of your brother. What his motives can have been is difficult to imagine.

For your satisfaction I wish to state that I do not attach any blame to you in any wise, becase of anything that he may have done. I have every reason to suppose that his disappearance was as unexpected to you and his family as it was to myself. Trusting that you will be successful in your future labors, and praying the Lord to bless you. I am your Bro.
