Dear Brother:

Your note of the 20th March, enclosing the Constitution of your Society has been received, and the Constitution perused. Herewith find it enclosed. In a business such as you are engaged in, the main point, is not so much to get written Constitutions and by-laws that are perfect. as to get good and efficient business men, thoroughly honest, for the offices of your Society to do your business. An imperfect constitution, if in the hands of good officers, may not operate in the least against the success of the business; and a good constitution in the hands of dishonest men, or men not acquainted with business would not make your society a success. I see nothing to hinder you from doing well under this Constitution if you can find good, honest business men to take charge of your affairs. Care should be taken to thus organize. By so doing you will save yourselves much future difficulty and embarrasment.

With love I remain your Brother
Brigham Young
