Mrs. Delila Cox,

Dear Sister:

Your favor of the 11th ult. in relation to Elizabeth Cox, the divorced wife of your husband, Brother William Cox, has been received. The sealing of other wives over the Altar before the first wife is not exactly right. Wives should be sealed in their order. Still, if they should not be, it does not give the wife who was sealed first the priority over the others. For a woman to be sealed at the Altar first does not make her first wife unless she is the first.

We have no feelings, whatever, against you in relation to this case, and you need not give yourself any uneasiness about anything she may have said. We had the bill all ready <at Beaver> for Brother Cox to sign; but he went off without signing it. The best thing he can do is to sign the bill and grant her the divorce she wishes.

With kind regards I am your brother
