President's Office,
Gt. Salt Lake City,
August 1st, 1867.

Mr. James Davidson,
Cotton Factory,
Washington, Washington Co.

Dear Brother:

I regret that your health is poor, and that the climate of Washington does not agree with you. You are at liberty to quit the Factory, and, in leaving, you have my good feelings and wishes for your prosperity. Before you leave I would like you to impart all the information you can to the folks working in the factory. Teach Bro. John R. Young all you can about the business, so that he may be a competent hand. There are places not far from Washington that you can move to and have much cooler climate than you have there. If you should not move off too far, perhaps we should need your assistance occasionally. Your twisting maching I would like to have; but, of course, do not want to give any more for it than I can get one for.

Your Brother,
Brigham Young
