Dear Sir:

I received your letter, of no date, requesting me to forward you a box of fruit for a wounded member of the Engineers at your Office. It came to hand yesterday. I found, by inquiry at Wells, Fargo & Co's. that it was contrary to their rules to forward fruit unless the carriage was prepaid. I thought that if I furnished the fruit, they might carry it, and they consented. I have this day forwarded to your address a small box of peaches and grapes, which I hope will come to hand in good condition. The box weighs about 22 lbs, being the <extent of the> weight which Wells, Fargo & Co. would carry without prepayment.

Respectfully,
Brigham Young
