Elders John C, Naile and John Zimmerman,
Lehi.

Dear Brethren:

Bro. Daniel R. Allen holds your joint notes for Four thousand dollars ($4000.00); two thousand of which has been due some little time, and the other two thousand ($2000.00) will be due next October. He proposes to turn them over to me to help pay for half of my Excelsior Grist Mill; but before accepting them, I wish to learn from you whether you are in a condition to pay them. I understand they call for flour at $6 per hundred pounds, or greenbacks. Answer immediately and let me know whether I can depend upon the pay if I were to trade for them.

Your Brother
Brigham Young
