The handsome present you were kind enough to send me has been duly received, and permit me to thank you for those two very elegant goblets.

I trust you are enjoying your visit east, and, when you again return to our mountain City I shall be most happy to have you join me in a friendly glass of wine of my own manufacture, which your husband denominates by the title of "mountain dew"

I am happy to inform you that general good health prevails in our Community and I trust you are enjoying that precious boon which is almost indespensibly necessary for the happiness of each human being.

Hoping we may see you again at no very distant day
