Salt Lake City,
July 1, 1868.

Rev. J. J. Glover,
Ridgeville, Indiana.

Sir:

Your letter of inquiry, June 21, came safely to hand, and in reply I have to inform you that faith, repentance, baptism for the remission of sins, by one having authority, and the laying on of hands for the reception of the Holy Ghost, also by one having authority, as taught in the New Testament, will constitute an individual a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Should you require further information, I respectfully refer you to Elder David M. Stuart, care of A. G. Kershaw, 2006 North 14th Street, St Louis, Missouri, who will cheerfully respond, and may be able to send one of our Elders into your region, should you think that his labors there would be beneficial

Very Respectfully,

Brigham Young
