President's Office,
Jan. 22. 1869.

Orson Arnold;

Dear Bro:-

You will proceed to <Echo City, or> Wahsatch, or, wherever you may find Bro. G. Van Schoonhoven & report your business to him in order to act together understandingly.

If deemed advisable by Bro. Gilbert, you will return to <Echo City to> receive the Wagons as they are forwarded by him.

You will make accurate memoranda of the number of wagons that arrive, & if injured or deficient in any respect; and you may employ assistance when such is necessary, and be careful to keep a plain statement of monies expended, to whom paid, & the service performed.

You will see that the wagons are safely stored where they can be protected & taken care of, and if necessary to appoint a guard over them.

Mr. Goslin suggested that the safest place to store them would be at their store house, but whether his successor would oblige me so far I can not say, as I have not the pleasure of the gentleman's accquaintance.

Yours in the Gospel.
