Bishop Aaron Johnson
Springville:-

The beares Joseph W. Cook & Co. of your place performed considerable work on my contract with the U. P. R. R. Co and I am owing them several thousand dollars. They propose to take some Bonds of the Utah Central Railroad Company which draw a gold interest payable semiannually. They are sold at 80. that is, a thousand dollar Bond for $800., and as they are owing their men, they desire to sell these bonds for Live Stock, and I bespeak for them your aid and influence to help them in this matter to the utmost of your ability, so that they can get the Stock to disburse to their men, and thereby help all of us to get out of debt. The Bonds will also be redeemed in due time but they draw interest on the whole amount until due, and the interest will be paid next July and every 6 months thereafter.
