Dear Sir:-

Immediately on receipt of yours of the 18th ult. I wrote to Bishop Andrew Cahoon concerning a Mr. Van Valkenburg who had purchased certain machinery of "Wood & Mann Steam Eng. Co." & failed to fulfil his engagement with them.

The enclosed is a copy of his answer: you will see that the Company have an agent here & that the matter will no doubt be satisfactorily arranged.

Thanking you for the interest you have taken in this matter, & for your zeal in advocating the truth in our behalf as a people, & wishing you every success, personally & politically I remain,

Yours truly,

Brigham Young

P. S.
Since writing the above, I am informed by the Agent, that the matter has been adjusted.
