Dear Sir:-

Yours of the 28th ult. with accompanying circular & Pamphlet respecting the Diamondpointed Steam drill have been received.

Prest Young is from home & will not return for several weeks; I will say for him, however, that while I am certain he would thank you for making him the offer, -- there is not the slightest probability of his purchasing the patent right of your drill. Mining is not carried on to that extent here, nor is likely to be for some time to come, as to warrant the investment of so large an amount in your patent.

Wishing you success in your enterprise
I remain Respectfully,

[Daniel H. Wells?]
