Mr. Henry Granger,
Winona, Minnesota.

Dear Sir:-

Yours of the 23rd ult. for information as to your "chances for getting employment here" &c. is received. Prest Young is from home, but in his absence I will briefly say that if you feel disposed to come here, you would neccessarily have to win your chances for employment like the rest of us; at the same time, although I do not know of any situation open for you, yet I have no doubt you would speedily find something to do suited to your abilities. The fact is the Latter-day Saints accept the "gathering" as a part of their religion & act accordingly, so soon as circumstances will admit, and, in a great degree regardless of consequences; whether you would be willing to do so, of course, I cannot tell.

Yours with respect
Daniel H Wells
