Dear Bro:

At the request of Prest. Wells I drop a note to say that he prefers you use your own discretion in the matter alluded to in your favor of the 15. just received. As you promise to take no further steps until you hear from him he thought a telegram unneccessary.

He would be pleased to hear of Bro Morris safe arrival; & he also wished me to say that he will write to Bro. F.D. Richards in the morning respecting the land alluded to -- he does not fully understand the matter with reference to "moving in the <matter of> school section."

Gov. Shaffer reached this City at 8.25 p.m. yesterday.

I must finish, as the mail will close in a very few minutes.

The Prest. at last accounts was well -- expects to reach St. George on the return trip on the 25th inst. he will continue his explorations from that point for a time.

Your Bro in the Gospel
D. McKenzie
