Salt Lake City,
April 20. 1870.

Mr. Henry Mordaunt,
Mansion House.

Dear Sir:--

Your favor of the 18th inst. tendering a parlour entertainment to myself, family and friends has been received.

As you observe, I take pleasure in patronizing good, wholesome entertainments, such as Theatre, Concerts &c. but I am not partial to having them in my house; if you had been able to procure the Theatre, it is quite probable I would have attended, but, as it is, I must decline your proffered entertainment, thanking you, at the same time, for your kindess in making me the offer.

Yours with respect
Brigham Young
