Dear Brother:-

President Young is now on a trip amongst the saints in the northern settlements, but before leaving, he instructed me to send you the enclosed draft (#128) on the Liverpool Office for £7.1.4, sent by bro Bengt Pettersson to his wife Johanna Bengtsson of the Skone Conference, now residing at Helsenborg Sweden.

Bro Pettersson, represented, when talking to the President that his family were in a starving condition, and that no one would help them because of their religion. He has means coming to him from the Utah Central Railroad Co, which that Co. are not in a position to pay just at present, and President Young though that if the sister and her children are in the extreme poverty, it might be in your power in some way to help her out. Should any of the good saints help her, he thinks there need be no fear but that the loan would be refunded by bro Pettersson, as the company will soon, to all appearances, be able to pay up, still I do not think he wishes to be made personally responsible for the payment of the debt.

Your brother,
G. Reynolds
