Dear Sir In answer to your note to President Young of 16th inst. I may say that any man who is persevering and industrious can earn a living here, though there are many places in the Union where money can be made with greater ease than in Utah. Most of the inhabitants of this Territory have settled here from the deep conviction that it was the will of God, that they should gather together, and associate with those who were one in faith and worship with themselves. To such Utah is the best place in the world, but to those who simply desire to make money there are many more promissing spots.

Respectfully Yours
Geo. Reynolds
Clerk to Prest Young
