Mrs. Mary Ann Gardner
wife of Gustavus Sims,

Dear Sister
President Young has directed me to write to you and enquire if you know anything of a certain John Montgomery who is said to have crossed the plains at the same time as you did, and who is supposed by his friends to have been decoyed from the train and murdered, They stating to President Young that you had some information relating thereto that would throw light on the subject. The President therefore would be pleased to hear from you, as soon as possible, so that he can write to them and if possible give them the information they need.

Yours Very Respectfully
Geo Reynolds
Clerk to Prest Young
