Mr. Isaiah Howes
Panacca, Washington Co.

Dear Sir:-

Your letter to President Young of the 20th ult. came to hand this morning and is handed to me for answer.

In reply allow me to say that there is no money belonging to the P.E. Fund Company in hand at present, and consequently the President has not the power to assist any person only so far as they pay him the means to do so. The order of Goodman & Banks had better be collected from them as soon as possible if you wish that amount to apply on the emigration of your parents. We can send the money to England for you through the office.

The President has paid Goodman & Banks about all there is due them on their Railroad Contract, and you had probably better advise William Atkinson of Bountiful, who you say holds your order; to have the matter attended to, and give him such instructions and information as will enable him to attend to the business in a manner that will be satisfactory to all parties hereafter.

Very respectfully
Your Brother in the Gospel
James Jack
