Dear Bro:-
The following is a copy of a communication just received which we forward you for such action thereon as your judgment shall dictate.

"Provo City, Augt. 11th 1870.
Prest. Geo. A. Smith, Salt Lake City.

Dear Bro. According to your request myself & Bro. E.F. Sheets, one of my councilors went to Payson on Saturday the 23 of July & with the Bishops & Lesser Priesthood of that place investigated the difficulties existing between Richard Smyth, now on a mission to Europe & his wife now residing in Payson, & it was decided by a unanimous vote of all present, that he, Richard Smyth was unworthy the calling of a minister of the Gospel in foreign lands.

A.O. Smoot."
Your Bro. in the Gospel.
