My Lord:
I have the honor of presenting to your Excellency's consideration and regard, the Hon. William H. Seward, late Sec. of State of this Nation, and formerly United States Senator and Governor of the State of New York, who with a few friends visits British India on his journey round the world.

It is needless for me to remind your Excellency of the Hon. gentleman's record as a statesman and patriot; and I feel I need make no apology for introducing to your acquaintance a gentleman so highly distinguished I have the honor, to be,
