Mr. Frank Chapman
Las Vegas N.M.

Dear Sir:

Your favor to President Young requesting a copy of the "Mormon Bible" &c has been received. The Bible of the Latter-day Saints is the same as that of other Christian denominations, usually known as "King James" translation. But I presume the work you desire is the Book of Mormon, which is a history of the ancient inhabitants of this land, from a time shortly after the building of the tower of Babel, to about four hundred years after the coming of Jesus. This Book I have purchased and sent you per mail, you will also receive a copy of the Deseret News, for three months, these together consume the Three Dollars you enclosed in your communication, I have also forwarded the speech of Hon W.H. Hooper entitled "A plea for religious liberty," which I believe you will find highly interesting.

I am, Dear Sir Yours Respectfully
Geo Reynolds
Clerk to Prest Young
