Elder Thos. Harris
St Louis

Dear Brother

Your note of 26th ult has been received and perused with interest. Your request to have an Elder sent to St Louis shall have our consideration, and in all probability one will be appointed to labor in your midst; in the meantime continue with all faithfulness and diligence to counsel the saints, strengthen the household of faith and preach the gospel to those who sit in darkness. In reply to your question regarding bro. Low. I will say the re-baptism of persons who have not been cut off the church does not as a rule deprive them of their priesthood, except in cases where a person has committed sin and it is understood that they retain their fellowship as members of the church only. In all cases however where this is not so understood the individual should be re-ordained at the same time he is reconfirmed. If bro. Law was not cut off for transgression, his priesthood certainly remains with him.

May God continue to bless and prosper you is the prayer of

Your Brother in the Gospel.
