        Dear Sir:--  I have the pleasure to acknowledge the delivery of a pistol to me, by Mr. L.L. Wood, which is said to be the one handed to the Prophet Joseph Smith while in prison by Mr. Demming to defend himself against the attack of the Mob; for which accept my thanks.
