Dear Sir;

Yours to Prest. Brigham Young of the 3rd inst. was duly received.

He instructed me to acknowledge the receipt thereof, and to assure you that he cannot give you any encouragement in the premises.

I presume, that is partly owing to the fact that there are so many medical gentlemen here already, who practise, or, at any rate advertise, all of those branches you ennumerate; and, partly, because of the difficulty of raising money where there exists already so great a demand for it.
